Point Loma Nazarene University requires all unmarried students under age 23 who live on campus to purchase one of the university’s meal plans. Each meal plan includes a combination of dining room meals & dining dollars which can be used at Point Break Cafe, Bobby B's Coffee Company & Breakers Market.

On Campus meal plan pricing includes a shared room. Meals are per semester.

Dining Dollars 

Your meal plan (swipes) may be used for your meals at our all you care to eat dining hall. You can use Dining Dollars to purchase food at Point Break, Bobby B’s & Breakers Market. You can use Dining Dollars to pay for a guest to join you in the dining hall. Dining Dollars are attached to meal plans & can’t be reloaded once they’re gone. Dining Dollars do not carry over from one semester to another & are non-refundable.

Sea Lion Dollars

Sea Lion Dollars can be purchased in any increment & may be used at any on-campus eatery (Point Break Cafe, Bobby B's Coffee Company, Breakers Market & PLNU Dining Hall). They do not expire from one semester to another. You can reload Sea Lion Dollars on your portal as many times as needed at any time! Sea Lion Dollars do not expire until a PLNU student, faculty or staff member is no longer enrolled at or affiliated with the University. It's simple for parents to add Sea Lion Dollars to your account here: Sea Lion Dollars.


Important: New residential students will automatically receive the 15 meal/week plan. You may choose to increase to the unlimited plan on your students portal. Changes to meal plans are not allowed after the second week of the semester. Commuter students may add additional meals at any time & will not receive credit for unused meals at the end of the semester.


Where do you select a meal plan: All meal plans & sea lion dollars are available for purchase on your PLNU portal.
Please note that changes to meal plans are not allowed after the second week of the semester.

Important Info

Having trouble selecting a meal plan?
Use the meal plan professor link on this page. He’ll recommend the plan that best fits your lifestyle! There are roughly 16 weeks / 122 days / 80 week days per semester. If you ate breakfast, lunch & dinner in our dining hall every day throughout the semester (122 days x 3 meals), you would need about 366 meals on your plan.

Sick Meals

Sick meals are available for students with a meal plan. If you’re not feeling well and would like to take food to home, talk to a PLNU Dining supervisor & they’ll get you what you need!

Public Safety
You must have your ID card to use a meal swipe. If yours is broken or lost please contact Student Financial Services so they can get you what you need!
