We take pride in sourcing wholesome ingredients, preparing recipes accurately and providing nutritional analysis and ingredient statements through our online menus and nutrition calculator. From general manager to front line servers, we work diligently to address students’ specific needs, especially those with food allergies, Celiac disease or special diet needs. A team approach led by you, our educated consumer, is the best preparation for a safe school year free of allergic reactions. We want to meet one-on-one with all of our customers who have individual dining needs to ensure that your dining experience is safe, delicious, and social. If you have a food allergy or special diet requirement please contact or visit the PLNU Wellness Center. The PLNU Registered Dietitian partners with Students to provide personalized on-site nutritional information through their Live Well Program. This partnership makes it easier for students with dietary restrictions to choose foods that are consistent with their dietary needs. Whether students are vegetarian, vegan or gluten free, the registered dietitian helps students locate the ingredients and nutritional information in the Dining Hall to develop complete meals and snacks that are nutritious and well balanced. Students with food allergies or food intolerances can work along side the registered dietitian to have their needs met in the dining hall as well.

PLNU Dining has two allergy free stations available everyday!

Simple Servings Station
Simple Servings is our resident dining option, providing safe and delicious food choices for our customers with food allergies and for those who prefer simple foods. Simple Servings is Sodexo’s solution to proactively address most of the ingredients that account for 90% of food allergy reactions: milk, eggs, wheat, soy, shellfish, peanuts and tree nuts. The 8th FDA specified allergen, fin fish, is included in the offer. Simple Servings also recognizes the current skyrocketing demand for gluten-free foods, which certain students may require out of medical necessity or simply want by choice.
 
Simple Servings also appeals to students who prefer plain and simple foods and those with other health-related dietary concerns. With Simple Servings, students can comply with food allergy or other dietary concerns without feeling singled out. They won’t have to go off campus for their meals or miss out on dining with their friends while
waiting for the chef to specially prepare their meals. The lunch and dinner menu change daily and include varied protein options: fish, beef, pork, chicken and turkey. All side dishes are vegan, containing no milk, eggs or meat products. Although we take precautions, the possibility of cross contact with other foods does exist. My Zone Pantry
The My Zone pantry is now better than ever. The My Zone pantry area is free of gluten containing ingredients & products, as well as tree nut & peanut products. If you have a food allergy or special dietary needs, be sure to schedule a meeting with our management team & the PLNU Wellness Center to better understand your options. Although we take precautions, this is a self serve pantry area accessible to all students & the possibility of cross
contamination does exist.

School University is proud to offer MyZone, allergy-safe pantry, and Simple Servings, a allergen-safe, hot food station. 

My Zone

My ZoneMy Zone is our campus “pantry” located at _____________, where food items needed by students with Celiac disease or food allergies are stored and prepared with precautions against cross-contact. This special area is free of tree nut, peanut, and gluten-containing ingredients and products. My Zone gives students the ability to be involved in their own allergen-safe meal preparation. Simple Servings

Simple ServingsSimple Servings is our allergen-safe, dining option for our customers with food allergies, gluten intolerance, or those who prefer plain and simple foods. The Simple Servings station offers food free from common allergens: peanuts, tree nuts, shellfish, wheat, soy, milk products, and eggs.  All foods offered are also free from gluten-containing ingredients. Simple Servings staff members are carefully trained to avoid cross-contact with food allergens. Separate equipment, storage areas, utensils and preparation areas minimize, but do not totally eliminate, the chances of gluten and allergens in our Simple Servings foods.
